Bausch + Lomb ULTRA for Astigmatism
An India-focused guide to the monthly ULTRA toric option for people prescribed contact lenses for astigmatism.
What is ULTRA for Astigmatism?
ULTRA for Astigmatism is the toric member of the ULTRA family and is listed in Bausch + Lomb's current India price documentation. The India IFU identifies Bausch + Lomb ULTRA for Astigmatism as a samfilcon A lens for astigmatism in the reusable ULTRA family.
Why is a toric lens different?
Astigmatism prescriptions commonly require cylinder and axis correction in addition to spherical power. A toric contact lens is designed to maintain a stable orientation on the eye so that the correcting power remains aligned. That means rotational stability and fit are especially important.
| Lens type | Toric contact lens |

ULTRA toric vs daily toric lenses
A monthly toric lens is reused within its replacement cycle and requires cleaning and storage after removal. A daily toric lens such as Biotrue ONEday for Astigmatism or SofLens Daily Disposable Toric is discarded after use. The choice should be based on fitting, prescription availability, hygiene routine and lifestyle rather than marketing alone.

FAQs
Is ULTRA for Astigmatism available in India?
Yes. It is listed in Bausch + Lomb India's current price documentation.
Can I use a normal spherical ULTRA lens for astigmatism?
Only if your eye-care professional determines that your prescription and vision permit it. Many astigmatism prescriptions require a toric design.
Why does toric fitting matter?
A toric lens must orient predictably on the eye. Excess rotation can cause blur or fluctuating vision.
